The hexapod drum tester is a widely used instrument to evaluate the appearance retention ability of carpets in long time use. It meets many standards: including ISO 9405, ISO 10361; BS EN 1471. IWS 247 & 251; Wools of New Zealand 247&251.

Turn the cover counterclockwise until the small hole is aligned with the hole on the drum. Remove the cover

Install the sample inside the drum to ensure that the lining plate is fixed in a fixed groove around the drum.

Check that hexapod polyurethane nails are clean, smooth and free of any contamination, wiping with paper and appropriate solvents if necessary.

Place hexapus into the drum, align the concave holes, and turn the cover clockwise until zui is tight.

Switch on the power socket. Press or to select standard test mode, and then press Run/Stop to start the test.

If not tested in accordance with ISO 10361 standard, select custom mode test, set the appropriate number of revolutions and interval.

At the end of the 2000 revolution, the machine sends out an alarm, takes out the installed sample and places it in the center hole of the clean frame. Use a vacuum cleaner and make it clean four times in both directions along the length of the mounting sample, making sure it passes through all areas and once in the direction of the nap dumping after zui.

Place the sample on the rotary drum and repeat the above procedure until the total number of revolutions is any of the following:

12,000 RPM, simulate severe wear and long-term use;

4000rpm to simulate early appearance changes or less severe wear positions are used.

Do the same with a vacuum cleaner.

3.8 the samples will be rated according to the corresponding standards after they are adjusted individually, flat and with fluff upward for at least 24h.

Warning: please clean the inside of the roller before completing one test to avoid debris entering the bearing and causing damage.
